Upstarts began in April 2012, with just 50 members training once a week in school halls.
By the following year our numbers had more than doubled and we were running over 3 days a week plus preschool classes.
In 2014 our numbers had increased further and we managed to not only find a building to rent and provide a permanent base, but gained funding to buy more equipment to expand our club.
By early 2015 we moved from school halls and leisure centres, to our permanent facility with an even larger membership.
We wish to progress into the competitive side, not just recreational competitions but to create higher level gymnasts for both the girls and the boys.
We have a long journey ahead of us, and with Upstarts being nearly eight years old we have come a very long way in a short amount of time competing against other more established clubs in the area.
We are proud that we have achieved so much. However, the support that Upstarts receives from all our parents, the smiles on the gymnasts faces each week when they arrive, the dedication and loyalty of the all the coaching is second to none.
We're not just about teaching gymnastics to all ages, but about building confidence and self esteem to each child who walks through our door. It's about making fun out of hard work, and hard work fun to do, giving an aim, a goal and challenge our gymnasts and let them work within their capabilities to achieve and believe in themselves.
